Does anyone have photos of the above and/or it's personnel? I have scoured this site but come up empty handed. Known mainly as the Scottish Hospital - any photos either in groups or of individuals would be appreciated.

Regards

Rory

David, Rory,

I viewed this item in the Glasgow University Library a few years ago when I acquired the group to McWhan.

At the time I made extensive notes which are not immediately to hand

I also ordered numerous photocopies which are in front of me just now. Every one of these is copied from editions of "THE SCOTS PICTORIAL" and is a mix of text and images.
1900 Apr 14 page 126 - titled "Scottish National Red Cross Hospital" - (SNRCH) - an introduction summary of formation of unit , with 3 non-descript images
1900 Oct 15 pages 292 et sec - titled "The Scottish National Red Cross Hospital in South Africa" - summary of formation and function - 2 pages of low grade photos
1901 Jan 15 page 3 - mention of complimentary dinner on 18th Jan in Glasgow for staff - 2 low grade images of hospital damaged by cyclone
1901 Dec 16 page 385 et sec - titled "Scottish Red Cross Work" - has section related to SNRCH with photo of Nursing Sisters of 4th and 5th Sections.

I'll try and post up some of the images in the next day or so.

Pete

From a scrapbook compiled by Elma Story, daughter of Robert Herbert Story, Principal of Glasgow University at the time of raising the Red Cross Hospital. He was a major supporter of the venture and through him Elma would have access to much of the ephemera in her scrapbook.
The quality of the images I am posting is poor, they are copies of copies of copies, but are possibly better than nothing.
