I am having a hard time reading a note on a QSA medal roll for a reverend, and would appreciate any help in deciphering it.
So far, I can read, "Served at Cape Town with / ?????????? from /. May 29th to Sept. 16th 1900".
It appears that the second or third word might be "River", but then again, it may not be. Any help is most welcome.

All the best,
John

Thanks to RobCT, I found this info on Touws River. : )

The TOUWS River played a significant role during the Second Boer War. According to Conan Doyle’s account, Scheepers, a Boer commando leader, turned towards Cape Town but swerved aside at Montagu and moved northwards towards the Touws River. This was a new departure for the British, who had previously only managed to drive and injure the Boer bands but not destroy them. On September 4th, the commando of Lotter was entirely destroyed by the column of Scobell.

Key Events
Scheepers’ commando moved northwards towards the Touws River, marking a new departure for the British in their efforts to defeat the Boers.
The commando of Lotter was destroyed by the British column of Scobell on September 4th.

Impact
The TOUWS River was a key location during the Second Boer War, as it marked a turning point in the British efforts to defeat the Boers. The destruction of Lotter’s commando was a significant victory for the British, and it showed that they were capable of defeating the Boers in a decisive battle.
