Allow me to introduce to you Emil Franz Otto Haselau aka Emil for short. Haselau's medal is impressed to the name Haselan which, doubtless, confused many of his previous custodians. I was able to "crack the code" and research from that moment on has proved rewarding. Haselau, as you may have gathered, is a very Teutonic name and Emil was apparently born in Germany. He hails from the Idutywa/Willowvale area of the Eastern Cape and had previous service with the Green River D.M.T. and the Commander-in-Chief's Bodyguard before joining the Cape Colonial Forces (G Squadron).
