I have recently acquired a QSA to a Reverend with two bars (Defence of Ladysmith & Orange Free State). I has been engraved as follows: Rev T.H. CHAPMAN B.D. I am unable to locate any reference to this individual and I am hoping that a member of the group can shed some light on whether he was entitled to the award and bars?

Are you able to post a photo of the naming on the rim? I might be way off but the Army Chaplain's Department normally had their naming after the recipient's

Thanks Rory,
I considered the initials could be positioned after the surname. In this case would TH be The Honorable?

Many Thanks Dave F,
So glad that you found a record for him even if it appears that a Natal bar is missing.
Have a Great week,
Chris

Dundee Courier 11 January 1911

1911 Probate

This transcript record is attached to his profile on a Public Family Tree

You can find the book Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae on line and search it, but for some reason searching does not find him but he is there on page 449 less the last sentence about the death of his wife which occurred after the book was published - so I assume the creator of the family tree added it in to the transcript record but it is accurate.

Doing a newspaper search for him throws up several references to him being a Forces Chaplain in Malta and going to Australia but none, like the above, refer to service in South Africa.
