QSA (0) (Sjt: F. Haskens. Vic. W. D. Mtd. Police), rank and name officially corrected / re-impressed.

Described as: Serjeant J. Haskens of the Victoria West District Mounted Police is confirmed on the medal roll. The unit was composed of just one serjeant (Haskens) and 7 troopers, and the original roll makes the following remark: ‘The D.M. Police was employed in scouting during the early part of the war; and, since, out on dispatch riding, commandeering and “ridding” the district of horses.’ '
