I was very chuffed when this little trio arrived. William Shore was a serving Trooper (no. 3038) with the Cape Mounted Rifles when he saw action in the Anglo Boer War. He was Severely Wounded in Action at Wepener on 11 April 1900 and, having recovered, went on to see action in the Brandwater Basin and elsewhere.

By the time the Bambatha Rebellion erupted in Natal in 1906 he had left the CMR - he enlisted with the 2nd Royston's Horse and was awarded the medal and clasp for his time with them.

Regards

Rory
