Good one Paul.

Sorted, now all Josh has to do is find the missing QSA.

Hi Paul

Thanks for your help so far

During WW1 I know he was still in the rifle Brigade - his number was 6267 (slightly different from his Boer War one)

Thanks again

Josh

Thanks to the both of you! You have been great!

I am overwhelmed with what you have both found out, at the start of July I am going to go on a major research quest for both Pte Wright (although you have already found the majority) and other ancestors

Any further information that you may stumble across I would be delighted to hear it!

Thanks loads Adrian and Paul for all your help!

Josh (here is a photo of the group of items [the KSA ribbon is a replacement as there wasn't one originally, the guy who sold it me said it was still fairly old and closer to the original ribbns as it is silk])

and here is a close up of the man in question (my G.G.Grandfather) along with his family. I belive it was taken just before he was sent to France in 1914

Hi Josh

It looks like his service papers have not survived, all I can find on Ancestry is his MIC card which shows his entitlement to:
Victory medal
British War Medal
1914 Star (sometimes called the Mons star)
His qualifying date was 22-09-14
Not a lot of information on a MIC card I am afraid though it does say he was discharged but no metion of a Silver Wound Badge

Josh

You are lucky to have his medals (all but one) and badges, great photo also.
I hope you will treasure them and one day you are lucky enough to find his missing QSA.

Good luck
Paul :)
