With thanks to a member of another forum I now have this additional information....


CROUCH W.J., Corporal 95. Attested 31/3/1890, G Sqn. Farmer from Thornville Junction. Siege of Ladysmith. Q.S.A. five clasps, Defence of Ladysmith, Q.F.S., Transvaal, Laings Nek, S.A. 1901; and Natal. Served 29/9/1899 to 31/05/1902 . 1906 Rebellion. Awarded Medal with clasp . Promoted Corporal 9/10/1900. Off strength 30/11/1907
