There are a quite few QSAs in the next Noble Numismatics auction including Chris Thomas' extensive collection of 70 QSAs to Australians and Australian units and this nice Natal Naval Volunteers pair:

Lot 2286

PAIR: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, - five clasps - Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Laing's Nek; Natal Rebellion Medal 1906 - clasp - 1906. J.F.Johnstone Gnr Natal Naval Vols on first medal, G:I:J.F.Johnston Natal Naval Corps on second. Both medals impressed. Very fine.

His rank is GI on the Natal medal? Gunnery Instructor?

Good morning David,
I've never had any dealings with Noble's before, I take it you will have placed bids with them in the past?

Frank,

I have bid on a couple of items over the years but not been successful. What I have heard about them has been positive and they are long established.

Regards
David

Hello David,
Just had a look at this sale, can't really see anything that I would really want and given that the QSA's are all to Australians, they are very expensive!
Good to know you have had positive dealings with them, even if your bids were not succesful!
Best regards Frank

They seem to get a premium price and the Aussie collection will certainly excite local buyers. Worth watching.

Hello Stephen,
Why do all QSA's to Australian recipients always have a very high basic value when compared with others, New Zealand recipients, for example?
I have never been able to understand this, surely the latter are rarer when it comes to doing the maths!
