James enlisted for the Brabants Horse on 10th May 1901 at Port Elizabeth
His lenght of service was 190 days, his time expired on 15th November 1901 his character is noted as "very good"

The QSA roll (WO100/237p13) confirms his CC clasp. There is also a note querying whether he also served as 1106 in Uitenhage TG.

The Supplementary Roll (WO100/237p128) has the SA01 clasps with most of the names pencilled through.

The Uitenhage roll (WO100/286p47) has a J G Beckford with again a note querying the link to your man. It looks like a no clasp medal was issued to J G and returned to the Mint.
