There is a Wepener QSA named to the ILH selling on BoB later today.

It may be the image but the naming looks curious to me:

The QSA is also anomalous in having OFS and Wepener clasps.

Earned his Wepener with 1st Brabant's and also saw service with the CinC Bodyguard

The OFS clasp earned with 2nd ILH but crossed out on the roll?

Baffling but commanding a very handsome price in Rand terms

He certainly should not have OFS on his medal.

There are a few Wepeners to the ILH and it is the case that men went to many different units having served at Wepener.

The letters on the rim looked larger than I would expect but this must be an illusion caused by the reflection and shadow?

From the photograph, I would certainly not be happy with that.

Someone liked it. It sold for R8,666 or £490.

The curious case of the missing trio.

This group appears in the next DNW auction

My brother and I purchased the group back in 2008 when it included a copy 14/15 Star and what i thought at the time was an original Victory Medal. We added an unnamed BWM and the group sold at DNW in March 20111. In the intervening period, the trio has been lost.
