The medal to C J E Smith sold this evening for £411.

Seen this week : QSA + CC,, Wepener , Tvl, Wittebergen + KSA 2 clasps : both to " 3326 Pte C.H.T. Liedtke Cape M.R .
Third initial is T on QSA and F on KSA
Also : Cape GSM + Bechuanaland to :Cpl H.T. Liedtke Cape Pol.
Initials on Cape GSM differ to Boer War Medals but the owner also had a ribbon bar with CGSM, QSA and KSA on it
Could all be to the same man ?
Any verification ( eg of Wepener clasp and CGSM ) and other info would be most welcome

This is what I have on him:

3326 Private Carl Henry Theodore, Cape Mounted Rifles
QSA (4) CC Wep Tr Witt; KSA (2)
Enlistment page damaged. Discharged 31 May 1903. CMR ref DD7/64
QSA and KSA ref: 241p40, 359p303

There is a man of this name on the CGHGSM roll (1) Bechuanaland, earned with the Cape Police (395 L/Cpl) so very probably the same man. It is a great shame his CMR papers are damaged but perhaps there are extant Cape Police papers that will confirm.

Noble Numismatics are re-listing the QSA (4) to Private George Brefitt, Kaffrarian Rifles ( www.angloboerwar.com/forum/5-medals-and-...ener?start=330#70311 ).

16 months ago the estimate was AUD 750. Estimate now AUD 500.

The CGHGSM/Permanent Forces LS&GC pair, sold by DNW 6 months ago ( www.angloboerwar.com/forum/5-medals-and-...ener?start=372#74089 ) is for sale at Spink.

No mention of his Boer War service.
