Enlisted 13 February 1880 in England aged 20. Served in the Gun War (Basuto War) 1880-1. CGHGSM (1) Basutoland. Corporal 5 December 1881. 1st Class Sergeant, B Troop. Discharged 31 August 1907. CMR ref DD7/60.

Enlisted 11 April 1882. Severely wounded at Wepener, 10 April 1900. Discharged 8 October 1910?. CMR ref DD7/60.

Awarded the Cape LS&GC 13 May 1901.

Possibly attended the FAMP/CMR Association meeting in 1955.

The Cape of Good Hope LS&GC just sold for a hammer price of £750. Totals (inc VAT on the commission for the UK only): £930. R18,500. Au$1,590. Can$1,450. US$1,090.

I have not recorded his QSA/KSA as being extant but I hope they are still extant somewhere.

The trio to Sergeant Major R E W B Jones, CMR, sold for a hammer price of £1,500. Totals (inc VAT on the commission for the UK only): £1,860. R36,900. Au$3,190. Can$2,900. US$2,180

What a great price - more than a genuine defender. It seems these "as issued" errors are being appreciated.

I came across your post doing some research on a Lt E Moss Driscoll Scouts, who's medal I purchased and a unit I collect to. Do you still have your QSA to Trp E L Moss QRV?
