I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A QSA DOW, NOW HE IS NOT IN THE BOOK OR ON ANCESTRY, BUT DOES MENTION HIM IN FIND MY PAST HAS WOUNDED DIED. 4 BAR TO HAROLD HIND 16TH LANCERS DOW 1/1/02 WOODSTOCK, IS THERE ANYWAY OF FINDING MORE ON HIM?. THANKS MICK.

Hello Mick and welcome to this forum,
His entry for the QSA is in WO100/118 page 22, shows nothing, but, his entry in WO100/305 page 130 for his KSA clearly shows "Deceased"

He is not in Palmers Casualty List.....

But in the Cavalry Roll he is listed as:

Hind, H., 4037, Private, 16th Lancers, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Wittenbergen, Relief of Kimberley.

Hello Mike,
Yes, that is his entitlement of clasps as shown in WO100/118 page 22, a very uncommon name too and unlikely to be any papers in existance for him as the KSA roll states deceased, if his entry in the Army Deaths Indices is correct, he will have been wounded before 1902 I would think.
