Good Afternoon Gentlemen

I was just updating my catalogue to send my yearly report into my insurance company and I got to thinking about the bars that I have on the medals that I have in the collection and the breakdown of the bars…..

MODDER RIVER…………….…. 2%
TUGELA HEIGHTS…………….. 8%
RELIEF OF KIMBERLEY………. 4%
PAARDEBERG…………………. 9%
ORANGE FREE STATE………..55%
RELIEF OF LADYSMITH……… 8%
DRIEFONTEIN…………………. 7%
WEPENER……………………… 1%
DEFENCE OF MAFEKING………1%
TRANSVAAL…………………….22%
JOHANNESBURG………………10%
LAING'S NEK……………………10%
DIAMOND HILL ………………… 5%
WITTEBERGEN………………… 6%

Even though the overall representation is probably fairly correct, my guess is these percentages would differ by the size and preference inherent in an idividuals collection.

Are the numbers and type of clasps issued to QSA's & KSA's known with some level of certainty?

Cheers

Hi Stephen.....

Yes I agree and see the point of the type of collection......

Myself I was trying the impossible, of obtaining at least a single medal for every unit that was entitled to a medal..... All 953 but I now know that is a dream.....

So therefore it is a general list across the board.....

The only ones that I will pick up when possible is medals to Canadian Units.....

Thanks Mike,

That is a HUGE ask and I hope you achieve it. My collection is relatively modest and will never have some of the clasps you have in your collection so they are likely to stay at 0%.
