Please note that the 2 medals on the left are for the Cuban war he was in in 1906-1908 or about . I have copies of his enlistment and promotions for it

He is entitled to QSA (5) as above with the exception of Talana and a KSA (2).

Special Constabulary Long Service Medal GV (Alexander Fulcher.)

Alexander Fulcher was born in Ipswich in 1872 and attested there for the 19th Hussars on 20 February 1892, having previously served in the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. He served with the Regiment in India from 4 February 1893 to 14 October 1898, and then in South Africa from 15 October 1898 to 9 July 1902. He was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in July 1910, and was discharged on 19 February 1913, after 21 years’ service. He died in Scarborough, Yorkshire, on 19 December 1946.

Alfred George Cottrell was a native of Bristol before emigrating to to South Africa. He joined the British South Africa Police and served in Rhodesia and Mashonaland in 1896 and 1897 (Medal and Clasp). He took part in the Jameson Raid and served in the Natal Police during the Boer War (Queen’s Medal with clasps for Talana, Defence of Ladysmith, and Laing's Nek). He died at Kroonstadt on 9 February 1916, as reported in a local Bristol newspaper:

‘Mr. Harry Cottrell, of Westbury-on-Trym, has just received news of the death of his brother, Alfred George Cottrell, at Kroonstadt, South Africa. Deceased, who had many friends in Bristol, was the youngest son of the late Mr. Henry Cottrell, of this city. For the last five-and-twenty years he has been in South Africa, and was last home on a visit about three years ago. He fought through the Matabele Wars, against Zulus and against Boers. He was in the Jameson Raid, and went through the Siege of Ladysmith. Latterly he has been fighting against the Germans in Africa, and was invalided at Korrnstadt, where he died on the 9th February.

Joseph Dunlop. Borm 1872 in Blairs, Lietrim, Down, Ireland. Service papers extant.

Served with G Company. Taken prisoner at Nicholson's Nek, 30 October 1899.

Also engaged in the expedition to Khartoum (1898). Queen's Sudan Medal (WO100/81p277).

The account by Corporal Padwick, 18th Hussars, says a corporal of the RIF, possibly this man, was made a prisoner of the Boers after he was left behind by the retreating column.
