A recent acquisition to my collection.

1993 Lance-Sergeant W.J.Hammond 2nd Battalion Prince of wales Own The west Yorkshire Regiment.
Sergeant Hammond was an early casualty of disease.
He died on the SS Roslin Castle on 31st December 1899 (Official casualty roll location: SS Roslin Castle)
www.clydesite.co.uk/clydebuilt/viewship.asp?id=4050

Sergeant Hammomd was awarded the QSA with the clasp Relief of Ladysmith and his name is commemorated on the following memorials:
Railway Station tablet. railway employees Derby Derbyshire
Municipal Square Leicester Leicestershire
Duncombe Place.Edwardian Cross.York North Yorkshire.
York Minster St.George's Chapel. Plaque West Yorkshire Regiment York North Yorkshire.

Could I ask if any forum members are in the vicinity of the Leicester memorial to take a photo for me please.

Thanks for looking

Paul :)
