Sgt. George Scott Ronaldson, Kimberley Town Guard.


Served with G Company. Impressed naming, "upside down" as noted in a separate post some time ago.
K Star (a) missing upper pin back ribbon bar.
The pic is the best I could do - taken from a photocopy of the original. George Scott Ronaldson passed away on 27/6/1947 at his home in Eastwood Rd., Dunkeld, Johannesburg.
There were two Ronaldsons in the Kimberley Siege; probably related. Another member of the family was with the Rhodesia Regiment and Plumer and later with the FID. That QSA/KSA pair are also in the collection.

QSA (2) Defence of Kimberley, Paardeberg (6 Tpr: J. Bevan. Kimberley Lt. Horse)

James Bevan served in the Bechuanaland Rebellion in 1897 (entitled to a Cape of Good Hope General Service Medal with clasp), and subsequently during the Boer War with the Kimberley Light Horse.

Last recorded at Spink March 1969 where it sold for £8.
