Please explain what "Danger Wound" means on the QSA medal roll.

Also what the EC Roll is.

My relative fought at Oliphants Nek, 23 Deb 1900.

Thanks

Yes, thats correct he was dangerously wounded there, the published casualty roll shows him as a reservist in the 8th Hussars, the medal roll of the 8th Hussars in WO100/115 Page 313 shows him as Invalided.
I've just looked at the older facsimile casualty roll and this shows him as a reservist with the 15th Hussars.

I think the classification of wounds has already been given elsewhere on this forum. Needless to say, I cannot remember the details, but they were something like this:
Slightly wounded - Remained on duty
Severely wounded - Withdrawn to a field hospital
Dangerously wounded - Crippling or life-threatening wound

Hopefully, someone with a better memory will clear up this matter.

Brett

Thank you for the explanation!

Is there a way of finding his full name - my relative is Frederick Joseph Pye and all things seem to point to this entry being him.

Also - what is the EC Roll?
