The Spink Centenary sale in 1999 contained the Colenso "Saving the Guns" Distinguished Conduct Medal group to Driver Arthur Felton, 7th Battery Royal Field Artillery.

Quite by chance I have just come across a letter he wrote to his father from Netley Hospital about his experiences at the Battle of Colenso. From the Essex County Standard 7th February 1900

Thank you for a very interesting post. I wonder what became of Felton after he was discharged?

Regards
Brett

Felton's papers are on FmP - he was discharged in 1903 after 20 years service, earning an LSGC too.
