In the next Spink sale is this trio to Sgt E C Jourdain of the Northamptonshire Regiment.
I thought this was an unusual combination but looking at his WO100 page (193p45) there are three men with this combination on that one page.

The Spink catalogue states L Cpl Jourdain was wounded 7 Dec 1899 at Enslin. The battle of Enslin was 25 Nov 99. Stirling says "At Belmont, 23rd November 1899, the Northamptonshire Regiment were in the first line, but were fortunate enough to escape without heavy loss. Their casualties were 3 officers and 15 men wounded. At Enslin, 25th November, their losses were trifling."
I wonder if Sgt Jourdain thought it was trifling. His wound was enough to have him removed from the regiment to seek treatment.
