Green Point Common, Cape Town, 1900. The large Common near Cape Town which is usually devoted to cricket, football and sports generally, owing to the war was converted into a large military encampment. Here Boer prisoners were confined in two large enclosures; close by was a remount camp and also the huts of the 'Tommies' who were either convalescent or proceeding to the front.
