The arrival of General Sir Redvers Buller in Cape Town.

On 31st October 1899 arrived in Cape Town. He was welcomed by General Forestier Walker and staff. A detachment of Cape Mounted Police preceded the carriage which was accompanied by Cape Mounted Volunteers.

The Household Brigade camp at Maitland. The above is a view of the Camp Kitchen, where active preparations are going on for dinner.

Maitland is admirably suitable as a camping ground, and commands a fine view of Table Mountain. During the short stay of this regiment in Cape Town they were extremely popular.
