Frank,
' Boddie's ' -takes me back to when I were a lad in Cheshire, although I was brought up on Robinson's, our local brewery. Fortunately real ale has now reached Scotland after many years of fizzy Export and Tennent's lager!

I have tried Boddies' and wasn't impressed and McEwans Export was fizzy. In SA the big Brewery is SAB who now own Miller's and are, (I think,) as SAB Miller, the second largest brewery in the world. However, their SA beers are all fast brewed and as as the Germans call it, "one day beer!"
Windhoek, my beer, is brewed to German standards by Namibia Breweries and is in effect, real Ale!
The nicest British beer I ever tasted was Ruddles County.
