Hi Frank,

Lydenburg translated to English literally means the town of sufferings.
It's at the bottom of the Long Tom Pass (through which Boers hauled one of the Creusot guns.)
It was settled by Voortrekkers fleeing malaria in the low lying areas but came at a cost as it had to be defended against hostile local Bapedi armies.

Oh it's OK, the Pedi are a lot more friendly now but you may get lost as they've been trying to change the name but hasnt really worked up to now :cheer:
