I am trying to obtain any info. on my Great uncle Charles Edward Catlin who enlisted in the Buffs in 1899 and is recorded as having served in the South African Campaign. His service no was 5950. He signed up for the short service and presumably was discharged in 1911. Any help would be appreciated.

What specific information are you looking for, I assume must have looked at his service papers and they are really quite self explanatory and leave very little to the imagination, a well travelled gentleman to be sure.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have his service record now and I am really trawling for info to see what, if anything, turns up. I am new to this sort of research so am feeling my way. Once again thanks for your help
