Hello, I'm new to this site, so I need a little help.

I'm trying to find the full names and details of two Uncles of my Grand-Father (Oupa). The surname was Van Niekerk, and they were from farm "Langkloof" in the Pearston area (Eastern Cape). The story I was told by my Oupa was that his Uncles refused to fight, and one of them was shot by the British in the mountain above their farm, and the other was tied to a chair and shot in the street in Pearson.

I'd like to know if this story is true, and what their full names were.

Anyone got any idea where I can look for this information?

I read about it, The one brother was HJ van Niekerk and the other GJ van Niekerk, so goes the storie, there are no facts. I suspect my family moved from the Eastern Cape earlier, to Utrecht, wakkerstroom to Amersfoort (Was at Amersfoort during the Boer war). Also looking for info. Bought a HJ van Niekerk boer war medal, but then must be someone else, as if shot then they would not have given him a medal. Lot of uncertainties and maybe different people.
