hello - I am seeking any information about a Pvt J McPeek or McPeake who served with the Liverpool Kings and was born circa 1875. It is believed that the soldier on the Kings Regiment Memorial in Liverpool was modelled on him. It is also believed he was awarded a medal for gallantry despite being only 5ft 4 and 129lbs !! . Any information would be greatly appreciated

Hi,
There is a John McPeek sevice no. 2906 who served with the Liverpool Regt.
His service papers are shown in British Army Service 1760-1915 (militia service records 1806-1915)
His service papers do not show any gallantry awards.

Paul :)
