My Grandfather FW Myhill Squadron SGt Major in the 5th Royal Irish Lancers is mentioned in the QSA files. However James Fisher who was in the Commissariat (presumably the ASC)was not mentioned.Could this be because he was stuck in Durban and didn't support the troops in the field? He was certainly there in 1899 as Squadron Sergeant Major Myhill married his daughter during that year and as she was only 16 it is fair to say the family was in Durban from 1888-1901.
If anyone can direct me to an appropriate source of information concerning the activities of the ASC during this period I would be most grateful.

Lancers,

J Fisher of the ASC will not be listed on my site, not because he wasn't present in South Africa but because I have very few records of the ASC on my site.
