I thought i would bring this post up to date regarding William Harold Prescott SJAB & RAMC. After much digging and discussions with the archivist at SJAB locally and in London i can only conclude that the SJAB rolls kindly supplied by Mark have a typo error. J Prescott is actually H Prescott. A commemorative plaque was placed in memory of H Prescott in the local Preston Hospital for his work with SJAB. This plaque is now in the SJAB HQ in Preston lancashire UK. I am meeting on monday 3 Sept 2012 with the archivist of the SJAB at the Preston SJAB HQ to see the plaque and he is trying to find out more details of his service .
One thing is missing H Prescott was awarded the Cape Colony and Transvaal clasp but i have only the Transvaal clasp. Could any members say if it possible to get a Cape colony clasp and if so where from, so i can complete his medals correctly.

Thanks everyone for your help in the past

Best Regards

John

Hello John,
Original clasps can be found without to much difficulty or expense in the case of a Cape Colony, have a look on ebay or try a dealer like Chris Dixon, www.dixonsmedals.co.uk you should have no problems finding one.

Hi John,
No, easy to find and not all that expensive either, you are not trying to find a Defence of Mafeking clasp!

Hello John,
I really would not know where to start there, photographs and photojournalism really comes to the fore during the Boer War, more so than ever before, there was one London based firm producing hundreds every day, but, I don't think the public craved hospitals.
Regards Frank.
