Trying to find my grandmothers brother Pte J. Fogarty 5th Lancashire Fusiliers .I have a message written by him on a piece of khaki that he had worn in South Africa between 1900 and 1902

Hi albertsown, welcome aboard. The only Fogarty I can find in the Lancashire Fusiliers is 2745 Pte. J. Fogarty of the 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers. The Queen's South Africa Medal (QSA) roll records an unissued QSA for him with Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal and Laing'ss Nek clasps with the note "forfeits medal under para 1255" (initialed as what appears to be "RW") under the remarks column.

Cheers,

Mark
