ASC: Potchefstroom Column and Ox Transport Depot 9 years 4 months ago #43395

Good day
I wonder of anyone could assist me.
I recently came into possession of some Boer War documents belonging to my great Grandfather, an Australian, named Andrew William Michelson. We know from his QSA medal verification that he was in the Natal Volunteer Ambulance Corps from Dec 1899 to March 1900, and that he was also a Conductor in the remounts division of the ASC. When I started researching I found a fair amount of info on the NVAC but very little on the ASC. I am trying to trace my Great Grandfather's movements during this war period.

The first attached document, dated 28 August 1900, mentions the Potchefstroom Column and seems to be a pass. The reverse is blank
The second and third are the front and reverse of a Protecting Certificate, dated 5 March 1901. On the reverse I can make out the stamps, but not the names, of 2 railway Officers - one at Bloemfontein and the other at Norvals Pont. Ox Transport Depot???

Any comments on anything written on these documents would be greatly appreciated.

Sue
