Dear John,

There isn't a unit history for the 89th Company but I can recommend Half a Life by Major C. S. Jarvis, C.M.G.,O.B.E, published by John Murray in 1943.

Jarvis served in the 89th Company as a Trooper from the day it was raised and pp. 65-138 are a well-written account of their exploits and life on the veldt.
