A wonderful photograph and it is good to not only see his grave is still extant, but, still with it's contemporary memorial cross.

I agree, it is reassuring to see the grave so well maintained, especially as it is unlikely I will ever have the opportunity to visit it. I had almost given up hope of finding a grave site so am extremely grateful for the forum. I managed to find a death notice in the local Evening News listing the cause of death as enteric fever, I would imagine a common cause of death.

Yes, it was very common indeed, just a few drops of water, in the heat of the moment, that's all it took, very sad.
