I'm currently doing research on my family history.
My great Grandfather was Polish and came over with the British Troops.
Doing a search on this site, I found two Troops.
Both in the Protectorate Regiment. Prince of Wales Light Horse.
25687 Budrick Stephen Troop
35917 Budrick Stephen Troop.
In the Discharge Roll and Nominal Roll their Surname is written as Budricks. (Same as mine) Where can I find more information on these two troops? One of them must be my great grandfather. (We are only a few Budricks family members in South Africa and we are related to one another.) Our origin in South Africa started with the Second Boer War.

Surviving rank and file papers for both are in WO126/105 and WO126/101-104 at Kew respectively, you would need to manually search them.

The Price of Wales Light Horse was dubbed the "South African Welsh" they are very interesting, in particular, they had been raised as a specialist anti commando unit and spent much of their time casing wretched Christiaan De Wet across the Veldt.
