Thank you IL.

When I search here for Charles Dewar I get a short listing:
Davison Charles Dewar - Trooper - Served 07 Mar 1900 to 15 Jan 1901. No. 5 Co. Discharged Niuberg completion of service
Source: Nominal roll in WO127 - Border Horse

Iguess I will write to the National Archives in the UK and ask if they can assist with info about this.

Thank you for your help.

Hello

Well done Mike - that's the information :)

There may be an attestation form for his service in the Border Horse at Kew - I will send you an email address to get them quickly (and cheaply) from a fellow researcher called Kevin Asplin.

In the meantime have you checked the Australian War Memorial site: www.awm.gov.au/search?facets=conflicts%3...29&q=charles+davison . They have some info on him.

Thank you Mike! This looks like it could be my man.

Is there a way to get his military records? In Australia you can obtain their sign up papers, and info such as next of kin etc.
And would this come from Kew?

Regards
Ren

Thank you Meurig!

With the info from Mike these records now seem likely to be of the same man, and maybe my man

Thank you for your assistance and I would love to be able to speak with Mr Asplin to see what obtaining these records would entail

Kind regards
Ren
