He isn't in Find A Grave's (incomplete) records for Treorchy Cemetery; the two reports gave two different spellings of his surname. Probably a Regular serviceman or a Reservist.

Mr. Howell Morgan, 9, Thomas Street, Pentre, who until recently was at the front, has just passed away. He died at Merthyr last Saturday. His body was conveyed from Merthyr to Ystrad, and interred in Treorchy Cemetery on Wednesday. A short service was held at the house, when the Rev. D. G. Morris, Zion, officiated. Great sympathy is felt with his widow and relatives.

A concert was held at the Drill Hall on Thursday night for the benefit of the widow and orphans of the late Private Howell Morgans, who succumbed to the effects of malarial fever a fortnight after arriving home from active service in South Africa. The artistes were: - Miss Maggie Morris, Tonyrefail; contralto, Madame Kate Morgan-Llewellyn, Dowlais; tenor, Mr. W. Rees (Eos Kenfig), Kenfig Hill; bass, Mr. Aneurin Edwards, Treorchy, and the Cambrian quartette; euphonium soloist, Mr. J. Bailey, Cory Workmen Prize Band; accompanist, Mr. D. Jones, Pentre. Alderman E. H. Davies, J.P., presided. The programme was: - Selection from Mendelssohn, Cory Band; "Merch y Cadben," Eos Kenfig; solo, Miss Maggie Morris; euphonium solo, "Men of Harlech," Mr. John Bailey; solo, Mr. Aneurin Edwards; "Y Weddw a'r Amddifad," Madame Kate Morgan-Llewellyn; duet, "Over the Hawthorn Hedge," Madame Llewellyn and Miss Morris; glee, Cambrian quartette; "Pride of Wales," Cory Band; "Chwi Fechgyn Cymru," Madame Llewellyn; "The Gay Haggar," Eos Kenfig; euphonium solo, "Pride of Wales," Mr. John Bailey. The concert was a first class one in every respect, and all the artistes acquitted themselves admirably. The attendance was good, and it is expected that a good sum will be handed over to the widow and orphans.
