TOPIC:

I am busy researching my family's service during the Anglo Boer War. Family legend has it that my great grandfather Hendrik Johannes Blom (born 1868) was part of the Boer forces. Most likely as part of one of the Free State Commandoes. I know that he has lived respectively in Philippolis, Ladybrand and also Fauresmith. I also know that he survived the war and lived well into the 1930's. What would be the best way to find more information?

Unfortunately he didn't applied for an ABO medal. There are 6 'Blom' on the roll but no Hendrik Johannes.
