Is there anyone on this platform that can assist me with info regarding my great grandfather John William Dubois he was born in 1881 and did take part in the Anglo Boer War.

According to my mom my great grandfather was a soldier and was captured during the war and placed in a prison camp - like a concentration camp.

My mom said he was from France born in 1881 came to South Africa when he was young - he met his wife in one of the concentrations camps and they both lived in Pietermaritzburg - he passed away on the 10th March 1954.
