FOLLOWED HECTOR MACDONALD . - A reservist named Walter Cardell, who served under Sir Hector MacDonald in South Africa, committed suicide on Tuesday night by shooting himself through the head with a revolver. Evidence showed that Cardell had brooded over the tragic death of his old commander. A verdict of "Temporary insanity" was returned.

His death was registered in Luton, but I couldn't find a record of his birth in either England or Scotland.
