hello all, am researching a great uncle harry lipscomb(e) born 1879 - last paperwork on him - 1895
he seems to have disappeared completely after this - his sister goes on to name her first son harry in 1914
so am looking at whether he could've died in boer war - have found the following
private h lipscombe
service no 3829
13th hussars
died 24/5/1900 enteric fever at ladysmith
how could i find out if this h lipscombe is my harry
any thoughts would be a great help

There is also another possible match: 7461 Private H Lipscombe who served in the 2nd Volunteer Battalion of the Royal West Surry Regiment.

There are no service papers available for either this man or the one in the 13th Hussars so confirmation will be difficult.
