EDINBURGH TROOPER KILLED IN SOUTH AFRICA.

The above is a portrait of Trooper John Bruce Macaulay, who was killed in action at the attack on Kekewich's camp at Modewill, September 30th. Deceased, who left Edinburgh with the last draft of the Scottish Horse, was the youngest son of the late John Macaulay, Halkirk, and Mrs Macaulay, now residing in West Edinburgh. Previous to going to South Africa he served in the 2d Merchants' Company, V.B.R.S. The late trooper had just entered his 19th year.
