I think George Street no 31890 of 42 Co, 12 Bnt IY is my grandfather. He died in Singpore in 1930. I did not know him but my father had his QSA medal until it went missing. I would like to trace George Street's family line and believe that his service records might give me informtion on his parents and his place of birth but I do not know how to get started or where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards all.

Hi astreet,
And welcome to the forum.
Had a look on Find My Past and George Street 42 Company (Hertfordshire) 12 Battalion Imperial Yeomanry is listed in the Anglo Boer war records.
His QSA clasp entitlement was Cape Colony,Orange Free State,Transvaal and South Africa 1901 & 1902.
Sorry there are no service records shown.
Hope this helps.

Regards
Paul

Thank you Paul. Delighted to have info on his clasps. Are there enrolment papers which might give me information on his parents and place of birth?

Hi
I may be wrong but I think Imperial Yeomanry papers are held at the National Archieves.
These records do not appear on Find My Past
