My paternal grandfather was Joseph Marnell,
Unit: 74 Company (Dublin) 8 Battalion Imperial Yeomanry

Joseph Marnell was born in 1875 Co. Antrim.
Is listed in Ireland's 1911 Census with his wife,
Christina Mulholland Marnell and son Thomas Joseph (my uncle).
He had two more children - my father, John Patrick Marnell (b. 1912) and
Edward Marnell (b. 1913). His wife, Christina, died in 1917, Lisburn, Antrim, Ireland and I can find copy of her death cert. on Ancestry.com
However, I cannot find one for my grandfather, Joseph Marnell.
Family history has it that he died of a broken heart after Christina died.
Also, I was told he died in a mental hospital. Since he served in the Boar War, would it be a particular mental hospital (in Ireland)?
I would like to find out his date of death and what he died from. Also,
if he really was in mental hospital. Any way I can send for records on him or more on his Boar War service?

Our family does have a picture of him in Boar War uniform. Does your
site collect pictures?

Thanks for any help and have a good day. Alice Marnell Galcik :)
