Hi,
I am interested in Samuel Young No 708 ,2nd Battalion South Wales Borderers who served in Burma. There is an S Young who served with the 2nd Batt. In South Africa. Is there any chance telling if this was my Samuel and he was still serving?

The only S. Young I can find on the SWB QSA roll is number 6124.

However, your man served with the SWB in Burma and was entitled to the IGS 1854 clasp Burma 1885-7.

In my humble opinion I think it maybe T Young.



Notes in the KSA remarks has him returning to India 1st Battalion SWB.
Personally, I think your S Young ,Private 708 2nd Battalion SWB may not have served in South Africa? Do you have any more details on your man Dave?

Thanks very much for your help. Have now found him on embarkation lists which show he joined in 1883 so S. A. would have been a long shot!
