I’m looking to see what photographic images if any are available for the 1st company railway pioneer regiment. My great uncle John Hodgson Backhouse served for a short while after he emigrated to SA to work as an amalgomator in the mines. From information I have he joined up on 5th of January 1900 and sadly died 16th June 1900.
