My Grandfather was a Driver in the 38th Field Company Royal Engineers. I have his medals and he was at Driefontein, Paardeberg and the Relief of Kimberley. I also have several letters sent to his brother during the campaigns. He died when my father was only several months old so I have little to go on other than the letters he sent, he came out to Australia in 1906 and died in 1910 from illnesses suffered during the war. After the war he went first to Canada were I believe he was given a piece of land, this I am not sure of.

I would like to know a little more about this company and the campaigns he fought in.
