My grandmother Dorothy Morgan was born on 24 March 1902 in Bloemfontein we assume, but we have no details except hearsay that her father was Charles and her mother was Jessie Mabel.(Muir?). Is it possible that he was a Burger and maybe she was born in a concentration camp hence no other records? I would love to hear from anyone who could assist me in my search. Wendy

Welcome to the forum and please accept my apologies for the delay in replying to you.

The only way of identifying the Burgers in the Boer War is from the applications made by some of them for the medal. The list of applicants contains two men with the surname Morgan, a Willem Jacobus and a George Burnett.

May I suggest you contact Rhino Research (via contacts) who may be able to provide more information on possible research routes and the potential costs of the research.
