I have been doing research into my granddad who was with the Royal Welch Fusiliers .He joined on the 29th August 1899 and left 5TH April 1919 and was invalided out after being a POW for four years .He Held The South African Medal with the Cape Colony ,Orange Free state and Transvall clasp and also The 1914 Star and Clasp.
I have looked in other places for any record of his service history but am unable to find him listed anywhere. Has anyone got or can anyone help me locate any information on him at all.
His Name was Edward allan Morris .I Have not got any information of rank or number sorry !
Many Thanks

Good evening and welcome,
I am a little confused as to why you do not have this mans rank or number and yet you know the exact dates of service and medal entitlement?
There are papers in WO364 at the TNA Kew, for a man who would be a very good match, these are also available to you on line.
Regards Frank

my granddad's information was available on his death posting in the local paper ,which I have a clipping of. None of his immediate family are around to ask, so that's why I have not got that other information >

Okay,
Now I see and all becomes clear, well there is a man who matches and he is 6082 Edward Morris Royal Welsh Fusiliers.
The surviving papers are filed in WO364 at The National Archive at Kew in London.
Are you in Great Britain, I can just send these to you now on line if you wish, in addition there will be an entry in WO100 in respect of his QSA and also a Medal Index Card, in respect of his Great War medals.
Regards Frank
