The above link will take you to a record of service for this man in the AIF during world war 1 on the Australian National Archive site.

It states in this record that this man saw previous service in the durban light infantary. It also states that his occupation was Cook and or Seaman.

I am most interested to find any type of connection with this man and any member of the NSW mounted rifles
and in paticular any member of the camden mounted rifles - this is critical information to my reseach on the military history of my home, Menangle Park NSW Australia. my home is situated very close to the homes of Antill, Macarthur-Onslows and the town of Camden.
it states that he from capetown and that he was married and they came to Australia roughly in september of 1914.
Any information on this man would be very much appreciated

I HAD MISREAD THE AGE OF THIS SOLDIER AND AS SUCH HIS STATED SERVICE IN THE DURBAN LIGHT INFANTERY IS A LIE.

I WOULD STILL BE MOST INTERESTED IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME IF HE WAS ACTUALLY BORN IN SOUTH AFRICA AT ALL
